We offer trainings to the needy Silkworm Rearers, Department officials, Entrepreneurs and Students in the field of Chawki mulberry garden establishment and maintenance, suitable leaf harvesting and preservation to maintain its nutritive quality, room and equipment disinfection, silkworm egg transportation and surface disinfection, environmental management during egg incubation of both sheet and loose eggs, brushing, feeding, prophylactic activities including chawki transportation. Canteen and dormitory facilities will be extended to the participants during training period.
We also organize field days at the rearers place to educate farmers regarding improved races, technologies and influence of seasonal variations on silkworm crop performance.
Farmer phone calls related for chawki indents, day to day problems, material requirements and other related issues will be answered round the clock.
We are equipped with men and material to overcome the day to day technical problems of rearers. Our extension staff visits to the farmers place minimum of twice during every crop to educate the farmers based on individuals garden and rearing conditions. Under exigency conditions our staff attends immediately to the farmers on phone calls and suggests the suitable remedies.
SERI BAZAAR / STORE
KCRC also established a store with required materials for silkworm rearing. Farmers can visit during their transactions and procure the materials based on their requirement.
Farmer counseling will be a routine and daily activity during morning and evening chawki distribution hours. Issues related to individual farmer crop performances are discussed and solutions will be suggested during these sessions.
In case of crop failure at farmers place because of obvious reasons the larval replacement is assured with free of cost
We have an MOU with National Silkworm Seed Organization (NSSO) to take up brushings of Bivoltine eggs on regular basis. Bivoltine silk production to the tune of….tons is a National programme to earn foreign exchange of Rs.……. KCRC is procuring silkworm eggs from NSSO and rearing Chawki worms and supplying to the farmers with assured quality help the farmers to harvest good quality bivoltine cocoons with better price.
RACE PERFORMANCE & TECHNOLOGY EVALUATION
KCRC is closely associated with the State and Central, Research and Development Institutes for large scale Race and Technology Evaluations because of broad based extension network and large group of associated farmers.
